Types of Tax Appointments
If you’re having us file your taxes, we offer two types of appointments depending on your needs: a one-hour video appointment or a “contact me when you need me” appointment. Each style costs the same so you’re free to choose the one that best meets your needs. Here’s a bit more info about them:
Option 1: One-Hour Video Appointment. This 60-minutes video chat is a solid hour for you to talk face to face (over the interwebs) with your tax advisor. We typically recommend this style of appointment for new clients, those who have lots of questions, and those with particularly complex tax situations. During that time your advisor will go over the documents you provided and discuss the results of your return. This appointment is an opportunity for you to go over any questions you may have, whether it be future financial planning, setting up estimated quarterly taxes, or what you should have for dinner. We generally use Google Hangouts, but if you prefer Zoom, just let us know!
Option 2: A “Contact Me When You Need Me” appointment is simply a phone appointment where we call you within a scheduled two-hour window. These phone calls typically take between 15 and 30 minutes. During that call, we will go over your results with you and you can ask any questions you may have!
Once you’ve selected your appointment, you will be prompted to pay a $50 deposit with your credit or debit card. This amount will be applied to the total cost of your return.
If you don’t need to have us file your taxes quite yet but would like to speak to one of our tax advisors, then we can also meet with you for a paid consultation.
If you need to cancel or re-schedule your appointment, you can either do so through your Brass Taxes account or by emailing us at firstname.lastname@example.org. If you cancel or reschedule your appointment with less than 5 days notice, you’ll forfeit the deposit.
