Important Tax Dates To Remember

If any of these dates fall on a weekend, the due date is the following Monday.

January 15

4th Quarter estimated tax payment due.

If you’re self-employed or have other income without any tax withholding, and you make quarterly estimated tax payments, this is the due date for your final quarterly payment for the previous tax year.

January 31

1099-NEC Forms Due

You will need to submit a 1099-NEC for any contractor you paid over $600 in total during the calendar year. The deadline for filing these is January 31.

* 2026 forward, the threshold for 1099-NEC forms is $2000.

March 15

S-Corp, Multi-Member LLC, and Partnership Tax Returns Due

If you have an S-Corp, Partnership, or Multi-Member LLC, the due date for filing tax returns for the business and making tax payments is March 15. If you need more time, you can request an extension.

April 15

Individual & C-Corp Tax Returns Due

The due date for filing tax returns and making tax payments is April 15. If you need more time to file your tax return, you can request an extension.

 April 15

1st Quarter Estimated Tax Payment Due

If you are self-employed or have other first-quarter income that requires you to pay quarterly estimated taxes, pay online by this date. 

June 15

2nd Quarter 2026 Estimated Tax Payment Due

If you are self-employed or have other second-quarter income that requires you to pay quarterly estimated taxes, pay online by this date.

September 15

Extended S-Corp and Partnership Tax Returns Due
If you filed an extension for your S-Corp, Partnership, or Multi-Member LLC, this is the due date for filing.

September 15

3rd Quarter Estimated Tax Payment Due
If you are self-employed or have other third-quarter income that requires you to pay quarterly estimated taxes, pay online by this date. 

October 15

Extended Individual and C-Corp Tax Returns Due
If you filed an extension for your individual or C-Corp tax return, this is the due date for filing.

TBD End of Year

IRS E-File Shutdown

Towards the end of the calendar year, the IRS closes down e-filing to prepare for the following tax season. During this time, no tax returns can be electronically filed. The date is different each year and announced by the IRS a few weeks before.
